I am a musician who wishes to get musical ideas written down on the printed page for sighted people to read/play. I am looking at using either Sibelius with Sibelius Speaking, or a program entitled Lime Aloud, both by Dancing Dots. However, Sibelius is extremely expensive, as well as "Sibelius Speaking, and were I to pay for the entire package, I would be spending over a thousand dollars. However, Lime Aloud is cheaper, and I would be spending about half the price. I am looking to know some of the differences between Lime Aloud and Sibelius, and if you think that Sibelius is worth the money considering what I want to do. All feedback is welcome. Thanks!

Hi, I'm also a musician! If you are blind and want that sighted people can see your scores the best way is getting the software BME, Braille Music Editor and transfer it for Finale! You can get informations about it at: www.dodiesis.com
Finale is for sighted people and it's not so expensive and this two softwares work tooghether very well! If you're sighted I think Sibelius is the best one! I'm blind and always have writen on BME which is a very great software to write even orchestras score and extract your parts! So if you are flutiste you even can get your flute score only in order to memorize it and play it with orchestra! If you want write and show to the sighted people, you can edit your score on BME and with a plug in, transfer it to Finale and print it! It works well! For example, as a pianist when I made acompagnements with both strings and winds, they always gave me the score and I extracted and it worked! It's always great when you play with orchestra as a soliste cause the Director gives you the score and you extract your own part! I'm doing it the Concerto Number 2 of Rachmaninnoff Op. 18 and it works well! Hope this helps! Jorge

I use Lime, but it's a pain in the ass to type on the regular computer keyboard to input notes, etc.
